If I’m going to hype Neko Case, I’d better give her New Pornographers band-mate Carl Newman his due. Honestly I can’t say I’m a huge New Pornographers fan, but these two keep putting out albums that I really like. A.C. Newman has a raucous experimental pop vibe that reminds me of some strange hybrid of Spoon and The Shins. This track gives a good sense for what he’s about. His first album also doesn’t fail to please. Looking forward to seeing him live in a couple weeks.
