Here’s another great band on the Jagjaguwar label. Somehow I missed this one last year. Luckily it made it onto some friends’ year end lists and I found my way back to it. Like I said about Passion Pit, Parts & Labor do an 80’s new wave sound better than the originals. The record has a lot of variety, and I don’t want to pigeon-hole this great band, but they’ve got an electronic music, synth-based sound that sits on top of all the heavy, chugging guitars. Great band. I’m going to have to get the complete Jagjaguwar catalog.
